First and foremost, we hope this post finds you all in good health and in a reasonably secure situation. We have all been through some trying times during this Covid-19 pandemic but there is a glimmer of light on the horizon which suggests that better times are on their way. Normally the approach of our six-year anniversary on May 2 (Float House Victoria) would be a celebratory occasion but we will defer any celebrations to when we can welcome you back to our float centres. Hopefully this will be sooner than later.
We would like to thank everyone for their continued support during this difficult time. We particularly appreciate all our members who have either continued with their membership payments or opted to suspend their membership payments for six months, rather than cancelling. This truly means the world to us as it offers us hope and some reassurance that we will again be able to provide you the service that you have enjoyed in the past.
As we move forward, post Covid-19, there will be changes with respect to our policies and how our centre operates. What form these changes will take is not entirely clear at the moment and will no doubt depend on what regulatory bodies (VIHA) dictate. But regardless, we are working on new protocols which will ensure your safety when we eventually reopen.
• Clients will be required to sign an amended waiver which will include a Covid-19 questionnaire.
• A hand sanitizing station will be set up at the entrance to our facility.
• Float briefings will no longer be held in the float room, but in an area outside the room where social distancing measures can be adhered to.
• Float session times will be reduced from 90 minutes to 75-80 minutes to allow for more thorough cleaning and room/tank sanitizing between sessions.
• Water filtration systems will run for 30 minutes instead of 20 between sessions.
• Massage therapists will need to wear face masks at all times while with clients.
• Possible face masks and other protective equipment for staff.
• Guests will be asked to keep six feet apart while in the Center.
It is also highly likely that our May schedule may need to be revised or cancelled outright. If you do have a May appointment, please call or email us beforehand to confirm that your appointment is indeed available.
While we prepare for our reopening, we would again like to thank you sincerely for your continued support and we hope to see all of you very soon!
As of March 21 2020, ALL personal services have been forced to close by the BC public health officials due to the Covid-19 pandemic. At this time, there has been no indication that the ban will be lifted any time soon. This unfortunately means that we must anticipate that we will be closed the bulk of April. We were optimistic that early April we could re-open, but this doesn't seem to be the case.
In light of this, we will be cancelling ALL scheduled appointments in April (massages/floats) and will be blocking off the entire schedule for the month.
We will continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis and we will be keeping a close eye on the news and recommendations from the BC government as they roll out.
Stay safe and stay inside.
It's still too early to say when exactly we will be reopening our centres, but we remain optimistic that it will be sometime in early April. We have made plans to adjust our float schedule in order to prevent any interaction or overlap between guests. This revised schedule will also allow us to institute several safeguards with respect to sanitation and disinfection. We are hopeful that these changes will allow us to resume operations in April and maintain a 100% safe space for our guests and staff.
Services on Account
Any previously purchased service, whether a float or massage, will NOT EXPIRE. We will extend expiry dates as necessary, so please do not worry about losing any of your services.
We are happy to suspend a membership for up to six (6) months after which the membership fees will be reinstated. On the other hand, if a client wishes to cancel their membership outright, we will waive our 1-month cancellation policy. Please note, however, that all membership floats WILL NOT EXPIRE or be lost during this time if you choose to continue with your membership. You can simply bank floats for use in the future. Our business (like many others) relies heavily on the support of our members and we would greatly appreciate your help throughout this difficult time by NOT CANCELLING your membership.
We do hope that everyone is doing what they can to stay safe and healthy during these challenging and disquieting times. Social distancing is something that we have a lot of experience with, and as many of you know, it's not a bad thing.
